Join the artist/author of The Artist’s Muse and Painting from the Inside Out to explore the unlimited possibilities of painting the figure (both nude and clothed) in this mixed media workshop. Each day we will experiment with a different approach and a different technique. From gesture paintings in watercolor, layering in acrylics, using bold flat color, and melding collage with paint, the emphasis is on expressive paintings, while incorporating the wisdom of the past. Expect exercises in short spurts, half day, and full day poses. Although for the most part, we will use live models, we will spend one day on painting from photographs and one day working in the style of a modern painter. In addition, we will create innovative paintings of figures over old paintings. Demonstrations by the instructor and critiques. Pull out all the stops! Go Figure!
