Linda
Sherman
Working
primarily in watercolors, Linda has been
painting unique Arizona landscapes since
1992, landscapes that effectively
reflect the special quality of light
found here. She also enjoys
experimenting with oils, pastels and
acrylics and has studied with
nationally-acclaimed artists such as Tom
Lynch and Skip Lawrence. She grew up in
Williams, AZ, studied elementary
education with an art minor at Northern
Arizona University, and, since retiring,
has focused on portraying the beauty of
the land and life around her. Not
surprisingly, her paintings have a
Western flair and are well-sprinkled
with horses, cattle and cowboys for her
art reflects her environment.
Linda won Best of
Show for "Bryce in Living Color" in
2008, won first at the Riordan Mansion
plein air competition, won the
prestigious Gretchen Swarthout Memorial
Award at the Spring Northern Arizona
Watercolor Show in 2007, won the
People's Choice Award in a joint NAU/Coconino
Community College faculty show, and also
has won first place in watercolor at the
Sedona Arts Center members' show. |
