Poet's Corner

Readings: 4–5 p.m. every first Friday of the month.

Friday, February 4 and Tuesday, February 14, 2017

Sedona Arts Center and Red Earth Theatre are partnering for the 3rd year to bring a special Poet’s Corner celebration on First Friday, 3rd of February at 4pm and again on Valentine’s Day, the Tuesday 14th at 3pm.

Join us at Sedona Arts Center in the Special Exhibition Gallery as visual artists share their art and 6 poets read their words. In some cases, the art and the words have been created by the same artist and go together, in others each stands alone.

Poets who will be sharing their poetry include Martha Entin and Connie Patrick (along with photography), Rose Moon (with art) and Tyffany Howard, Kate Hawkes and Wendy Harford. Visual artists are also represented by Sheron Foster, …. ….. ….

There is a special gift this year because we also invited art created with Yavapai Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Sedona Kind! On Sunday February 29th Sedona Arts center hosted workshop where the Big Brothers/Big Sisters created small Sedona Kind charms together.

A group of women in Sedona have been making "Kindness" charms out of broken, recycled and surplus donated jewelry and dispersing them, not only around Sedona, but across the nation and world wide. Each Charm had a tag that says "Take me home and spread kindness".

After the exhibit the charms created by our young artists will be distributed throughout the area in keeping with gifts of kindness offered by Sedona Kind. The poems will also be available in paper copies for you to take home if you wish.

This year we also feature the photography of Larry Kane, whose portraits of the young artists making their charms bring a special energy to this year’s theme – Kind Art From The Heart.

So come to the Sedona Arts Center this Friday at 4 pm or Tuesday 14th at 3pm and join artists and poets as we pour the kindness of art from the heart out into our community.

Join us at Poet's Corner at the Sedona Arts Center on Friday, February 4 pm at 4pm!
