Celebration of Landscape Painting
Exhibition, Paint Out, Lecture, Workshops, and More!
The heritage of landscape painting in Sedona is represented by a diverse group of fourteen contemporary artists in this unique exhibition/event. The Exhibition will be on display April 6–9 in the Theatre Studio at the Sedona Arts Center and will showcase both studio and plein air work with artists adding plein air work (work done directly from life) as they complete them throughout the event.
Artists will be painting from life twice during the event. The public is encouraged to attend, watch the artists at work and see finished works at awards ceremonies and sales opportunities onsite at each of the venues. Anyone can join as a participating artist in the community paint-out at L’Auberge de Sedona on April 6. The Creekside paint out begins at 9:00 am with finished paintings to be on display at the Noon. Register to paint through Sedona Arts Center. To attend the event take the Red Rock Magic Trolley from the Arts Center lower parking area, the trolley will run from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm.
The Marriott Courtyard Paint Out is 9:00 am to Noon on Saturday April 8 and will feature the 14 artists displaying works in the Celebration of Landscape Painting event. Finished works will be on display at the Courtyard at Noon. Each paint-out has a $500 first place award. Judging for awards is done by key staff at each resort.
The "Celebration of Landscape Painting" event will wrap on Sunday with a panel talk at 4:00 pm.
